I've just found my great grandad's marriage certificate from 1931 (United Kingdom), and it has his father's profession as peacer.
Does anyone know what this is? I can't find any information on Google.
I read it as placer, which would be a kiln worker who puts objects to be fired in the kiln. You can read a bit about the job here.
