This question may be completely ridiculous but I'm genuinely curious. I've been re-reading a historical fiction manga called "Kingdom" recently that takes place in the Warring States Period in China and features female generals and officers. I know very little about the time period, and want to know if this is entirely the author taking liberties or if there's any validity to it.
The manga "Kingdom" itself is extremely unrealistic in the term of history so there is that. The author doesnt have a single idea about the Warring State era, from the military, culture to ideology. For your question, there's absolutely no female general or officer of any kind.
