Book recommendations for the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the division of the Middle East

by mythicalmax

Hi, I've recently become interested in this topic and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any books or even podcasts/documentaries about the period from 1914 (or earlier) to whenever things began to settle (so I guess after the western nations finished dividing the area). Bonus points if you have additional recommendations about the consequences of those divisions. I've also taken a look at the master book list, so A Brief History of the Late Ottoman Empire and Osman's Dream are both on my list.

Hey there,

So I actually did a couple podcast episodes on this topic on the sub that might be of interest to you:

In terms of books, I would take a look at D.K. Fieldhouse's Western Imperialism in the Middle East 1914-1958 and Eugene Rogan's The Fall of the Ottomans.
