So I'm not sure if this is the place to ask this but I am considering doing a history or archaeology degree and I am wondering which universities/degrees garner the most respect academically?
In what area of history? This is the key question, because sub-fields of history differ considerably, and a university strong in one field may not be well-regarded in another.
My second question would be, what level of degree? This makes a difference too, because the questions you ask about institutions as a PhD student differ from those an undergrad is concerned with.
Lastly, what do you hope to do with it?
I say this as a graduate of an Australian university in history, so hopefully if you can expand a little on my questions, I can give you more insight from my perspective.
