What are the reasons Mexico didn't become a "First World Country"?

What are the reasons Mexico didn't become a Developed Nation? Here in Brazil, the common sense says many times that because my country never had a bloody revolution and a true national identity we can't become truly developed. Mexico has a great heritage, had strong and revolutionary leaders in the Revolution of 1910 and a strong artistic movement that helped create a national identity (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_muralism)

I don't think it's an exception, I think there's another reason, but I'm not an expert and I don't know if I'm right.. So, what differentiates Mexico from, for example, France and the US?

What do you mean by "First World"?

AFAIK, the first usage of 1^(st), 2^nd and 3^rd World was after WWII. The 1st world was the allied nations, the 2^nd world was the axis nations, and the 3^rd world was everyone else.

Nowadays, most people use "3^(rd)" World to mean undeveloped nations, collectively. So could you clarify your question?
