There have a lot of questions about this And I would like to know more about it. This is a highly sensitive topic, and most of the sources are highly subjective about it, serving the interests of their authors( propaganda) so please only objective sources.
What sort of questions did you have about the region? It's quite large, and incredibly rich in history.
"The Balkans: Nationalism, War, and the Great Powers, 1804-2011" is a nice starting place, it covers all the major events in the region chronologically.
"The Ottoman Endgame: War, Revolution, and the Making of the Modern Middle East, 1908-1923" Is a good summary of the last decades of the Ottoman empire.
"Death and Exile" Is an amazing book, and gives the answer to the oft-asked question, "Where did all the Muslims in Europe go after end of the Ottoman empire?"
Hi in this thread I have answered some questions regarding ethnic cleansing in the Balkans. There is long list og literature. But a quick must have every Balkan interested historian ia the Carnegie Inquiry of the Balkan War, its report composed of local reports, letters and impressions. It is bias in the way it supports the Christian struggle against the Ottomans, but it does not try to hide anything or be selective in that. And its written in 1913, its great contemporary work for the Balkan Wars and knowledge of the development of nationalism in the Balkans.
