According to the Wikipedia page (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_coffee) for the history of coffee there were Sufi monasteries that used coffee. Was this ever a big thing?
Wayyy back in my reddit Dark Ages, I wrote about Sufi lodges in comparison to medieval Christian monasteries. Don't know much about their specific relationship to coffee, although the drink became quite popular in the Muslim world more broadly at the end of the Middle Ages.
