How did Nazi Germany justify the Roman symbolisms while they think Mediterranean Aryans are inferior to Aryans?

by AuraofMana

Aryans > Western Europeans / Honorary Aryans > Mediterranean Aryans > ... in Hitler's viewpoint. Despite this, Nazi Germany, in many ways, emulated the Roman Empire in a lot of symbolism (although part of it contributed by the fact that every country in Europe did this more or less).

How could they explain away the more civilized Romans in antiquity compared to the (back then) backwater Germans?

A very similar question was asked a week or so ago which I answered here. Essentially, the Nazi vision of the Reich was based on the Holy Roman Empire founded by Otto I in the tenth century, rather than the actual Roman Empire. The fact that the Ottonian Empire saw itself as the successor to Rome, and portrated itself in the Romanitas which was an essential part of early medieval politics, is essentially wilfully overlooked.

You may want to provide some sources on the Nazis believing that Mediterraneans were "inferior" in any way. AFAIK this wasn't the case in reality.
