Can someone explain the reasoning behind all of the conflict in the Middle East? Where did it start and is it still about whatever that was?

What you mean by all of the conflict? You mean every conflict there ever was or something more specific?

Do you mean the US in/around Iraq and Afghanistan? Or do you mean the larger narrative of East vs West/Euro-American culture vs Islamic-Mid Eastern culture? I assume you don't mean war and violence in the region between the Sahara and the Hindu Kush generally in all of human history.
