Surely they knew the French and the British and the Spanish, but were they aware of the religious, political, and dynastic differences that divided them? Did they know about the Ottoman Empire and the Habsburgs and the Tsars of Russia? Did they know about Islam and the Reformation and Fredrick the Great?
I can't answer the question but perhaps a clarification would help. What century are we talking about? 19th century iroquois would have much more cultural exchange than 17th century.
