I do not mean this to be flippant in the least, but can you please clarify what sort of similarities you see or what Nazi massacres you're comparing this with? The My Lai Massacre was a massacre of vietnamese non-combatants, but often seen as a horrific example of atrocities an army can commit without proper oversight and to civilians.

The holocaust by contrast is an example of a very specific and deliberate attempt at genocide carried out and directed at all levels of the nazi command structure. Is there a specific massacre from WWII you're trying to compare or contrast My Lai with?
