According to wikipedia Lichtenstein "had sent 80 men out but did not engage in any fighting. They returned home with 81 men because an Italian soldier decided to come home with them." Unfortunately, that claim is not cited. I did some cursory research, however, I couldn't find anything reliable. Does anyone know the circumstances surrounding that 81st man?
