Why did the proletariat not happen in the West like Marx predicted?

by deltal3gion

So I read a thread asking whether the idea of "true communism" never being tried was true or not and in the thread one of the answers mentions that modern Marxism is centered around why the Marxist revolution didn't happen like Marx predicted. So what are the current theories in that field on why such a revolution never occured?

I don't think this is a question for historians why an ideology didn't predict future events. You have better ask Marxists. There are subredits about marxism.
