I teach 9th grade global history, I don't feel like I know enough about the Ottoman Empire- in part because it crosses into the curriculum of global 2, which I don't teach. Any suggestions?
I've just finished an audiobook which is really a series of lectures called The Great Courses: The Ottoman Empire. I found it very informative and would recommend.
"The Ottoman Turks: An Introductory History to 1923" by Justin Mccarthy is great. As a follow up read, his "Death and Exile" will blow your mind.
