Which effort of anglicisation are you referring to as I'm sure the answer (not from me, I'm not game to write answers here yet) will differ greatly depending on if you're looking at the anglicisation by the Anglo-Saxons in the 5th century, the "anglicisation" by the Normans in the 11th century or the anglicisation by the English in the 12th and onwards centuries?
