Why didn't the UK, France and the US try to secure that oil for themselves like they did with Iran, Iraq and Libya?
To clarify, what time period are you talking about? Aramco, formerly the "Arabian-American Oil Company", was very much a foreign owned enterprise. The Saudis nationalized the company over time, taking full control in 1980.
