The Egyptians at the time would have had extensive trade connections throughout the Near East and Eastern Mediterranean world. They also had an almost colonial relationship with Nubia, Kush, and on occassion launched expeditions into the land of Punt, tentatively identified with the Horn of Africa. They also had interaction with the Libyan peoples to their west.

They were deeply involved with the diplomacy of the area as well, particularly between the Mitanni, the Hittites, and the various Mesopotamian powers of the day, but they would have been aware of the powers in Greece as well.

How much they knew of the world beyond these areas is tough to say. They may have had some trading with Africans south of Kush and Punt.
