Hello,
I graduated last year with my Bachelor's of Arts in History. I am six months way from graduating with my Master's of Education in Higher Education. I am also employed full-time at a university in a staff position.
I want to teach history at the college level at my place of employment as an adjunct.
I want to get my Master's in History. It has been on my radar for years and I only went with the M.Ed first for job security at my job. I also have an interest in potentially shifting gears later and teaching in the public school system.
My only thing is, it has to be an online program.
Can anyone point me in the right direction or possibly give me advice?
Thanks.

(1) For goodness' sake, why?
(2) Does your school hire people without PhDs as adjuncts in history? I don't mean theoretically, I mean, when you look at the schedule of who teaches history classes, are there MA-holding professors? When were they first hired?
(3) For teaching public school, an MA in history is not going to be all that useful. If you're in the US (which I assume based on the colloquialism "public school"), you'll need an additional teaching certificate or master's in secondary ed.
(4) Consider whether a history MA is really a good use of your money. Unless you can do it at your current school with a staff tuition benefit, you're fairly unlikely to get aid to do an online degree, and you most likely won't be eligible for TA or RA fellowships (ergo tuition remission/stipend).
