I've been trying to do research on the Young Turks Revolution, but I can't find a straight forward explanation of its historiography. If someone could explain to me the basics of it, or point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
The Young Turks played a great role in the late Ottoman history and had influences on the early tomes of the Turkish Republic. So some historians study the subject from this perspective, and measure their impact on Turkish nationalism and identity building process. Others look at their organizational skills and experience inside of the Ottoman Armed forces and how they affected Ottoman/Turkish politics. And many historians sees the Young Turks as the force behind the Armenian Genocide, and theirby they're included in genocide studies. Their is many other interesting approaches on the Young Turks and the Union of Committee and Progress, this thesis has a great overview of the historiography and otherwise you csn use Google Scholar and see their what the most popular approachs are regarding the topic. Hope tjis helps a little.
