I'll get straight to the point. I'm a young guy at university age, and in this world today of constant political bickering and fighting, I thought it would be nice to have a sort of knowledge (perhaps not expertise, per se) on the subjects I find myself so often surrounded by. Can anyone recommend any material to read that might help me gain better insight into these topics? I would particularly like something that sort of gives a glimpse into both socialism and capitalism, and how both of those impact their countries and what not. As an outsider looking in, it appears to me that both are flawed, but that socialism (or rather, communism. I understand the difference between the two) seems to be the weaker of the two, especially going into the long term. Thanks to anyone who can be of help.
