I didn't realise there was such a range of tanks and other vehicles used in the conflicts there. While I am trying to find out what this vehicle here is specifically, I would appreciate any general advice. The screenshot comes from this video here at the 10:12 mark (or the 6:11:42 on screen timecode).
That is a Universal Carrier, or rather a convoy of them, which were used from 1940 to mechanise British and Commonwealth infantry. They were used to transport men and materiel, supplies, as mobile mortar platforms and machine gun carriers, and alongside armoured cars for reconnaissance in force.
The main vehicles used by British and Commonwealth forces were the M3 Stuart (often colloquially called the Honey in British service), the M3 Grant (the US M3 Lee with a British turret) and the A15 Crusader, often in mixed units. 5RTR, part of 4th Armoured Brigade, 7th Armoured division, was a typical British tank regiment, and was organised into 3 line squadrons at the time of El Alamein: A Squadron, the scout and spearhead squadron, were equipped with M3 Stuarts before refitting to Crusaders, which were less reliable but low and fast with a more powerful gun, while B and C squadrons were outfitted with M3 Grants. Their reconnaissance elements also made use of Daimler 'dingo' scout cars and universal carriers.
Within the rest of 4th Armoured Brigade were support units and infantry transported by Bedford lorries, and 6lb anti-tank guns and 25lb field artillery towed behind Morris 'Quad' gun tractors.
