Hello /r/AskHistorians.

I am looking for some recommendations on any books about the British Royal Navy and its influence on how the British Empire formed and expanded. Ultimately I will be using these books for writing a university level assignment in December, but for now I am more on a book-finding expedition..

I've done a little bit of research myself. If any of the books I found are ones that you heartily recommend, please do say so.

'A history of the Royal Navy' looks pretty good

'Empire of the Deep' looked more like a broad overview than an analysis

Thanks in advance.
