If I were you, I would look into internships where you can get archival experience, object handling experience, or some type of archaeology field school. Standard history degrees are a dime a dozen and it's very difficult to get a job in academia right now. You want to set yourself apart from others in your field. Check with museums in your area to see if they have projects they need interns for (most of us usually do!) or even with your university librarian. You might find you like museum or library work or your experience with different internships will help you to get into advanced degree programs or eventually a job!
I have a degree in Cultural and Historic Preservation, which is a mixture of a standard history degree, archaeology, architectural history, archival work, museum studies, collections management, etc. I have found that the extra skills I learned in my coursework and internships throughout college have really helped to advance my career. I currently work in the Collections department at a museum and really enjoy it. I've also worked as a tour guide, museum educator, and living historian.
History is a great although sometimes challenging field to be in. I hope you continue to pursue it!
