Check over at /r/Norse. You're most likely to get a response there.

Note that they're most adept with the Younger Futhark, which was the alphabet used during the Viking Age for transcribing Old Norse onto runestones, etc. The Elder Futhark was used earlier primarily among the Germanic tribes during the late Roman period. The Anglo-Saxon Futhark falls somewhere in the middle and is typically discussed separately.

In general, runes were used phonetically, which means that there isn't always a one-to-one transliteration. For example, Jennifer might be rendered as G-E-N-I-F-R. But it's also important to remember that runes were used with artistic flourish in a world without spell check, so if G-U-E-N-I-V-U-R looked better, it might get used instead.

If you want something translated into a historic language (Old Norse, Anglo-Saxon, etc.), that's another matter completely. Again, you'd probably have better luck on a different sub that /r/AskHistorians.

You can find a decent introduction to the Futhark and the Anglo-Saxon variants on a few websites, although there's a lot of mystical stuff out there as well, which has no basis in the historical or archaeological records.
