I just finished reading The Jersey Brothers. I was not aware of all the in-fighting between the army and navy over the Pacific front. Can anyone further elaborate on what were the issues and why the military was willing to put so many US boys' lives on the line?
I have not read it so can you share any excerpts or notable incidents that stuck with you?
The Pacific War saw numerous incidents at all levels of inter service conflict. From the first day to the last the Navy and Army had different ideas on what was most important. And this was often made worse my the grandiose MacArthur treating SWPAC and Australia as his own kingdom.
So if there are specific references you read we can very much look at them in particular.
