Good afternoon gentlemen and ladies, I was curious to find out what material was used to make British uniforms in World War 2, along with what traditional uniforms the soldiers wore when they went to battle.
Thank you for all your help! :)
The British Army adopted the new battledress uniform in 1937. This uniform, designed to be cost effective to produce and comfortable to wear, underwent some minor cosmetic changes over the course of the war, but was generally made from khaki (greenish-brown) serge wool. This was the standard for British forces in temperate climates. The wikipedia page has a number of good photographs of it.

In desert and tropical climates, the British Army issued cotton uniforms, generally consisting of a long-sleeved shirt, shorts, and high socks.

Can you please expand on what you mean by this? The British military's service uniforms were fairly, well, uniform.
