Hi, I was wondering if anyone could point me to the best videos, books or podcasts about the Holy Roman Empire? Preferably something that is not too overwhelming for a beginner but still detailed enough to be worth reading. Anything would be helpful, but especially the medieval era. Thanks in advance.
While not directly written about the Holy Roman Empire, Europe by Brendan Simms is a great book that centers around the Holy Roman Empire in the context of a larger European history from 1453.
The Holy Roman Empire by Peter H. Wilson is also very good, although it is larger, but of course more detailed as well.
