Hey, so I'm currently doing a project about Indo-European history or civilization. Would appreciate any good recommendations. I have a book (Archaeology and Language: The Puzzle of Indo-European Origins by Colin Renfrew), but I need the books to have been published post-2000. Thanks to any who reply
Indo-European Language and Culture: An Introduction by Benjamin Fortson and The Oxford Introduction to Proto-Indo-European and the Proto-Indo-European World are pretty standard. I also recommend Indo-European Poetry and Myth by M.L. West and the first half of The Horse, The Wheel, and Language.
It was published before 2000, but Mallory's In Search of the Indo-Europeans is still a reliable source.
Renfrew is one of the few to support an Anatolian homeland for PIE, so he will disagree with many other books you'll find.
