In the Quran and Sunnah of Muhammad, it disallows alcohol and other intoxicants. What was the intoxicant at the time that people would use, if any?
these are the drugs that i know existed at that time in the region, but i do not know if the muslims used all of them or if the qoran was in reference to them all:
hashish. salvia divinorum. scorpion venom, snake venom, alcohol. you might want to look into khaat and opium as well.
