I'm writing a paper on a poem/collage. I'm trying to find the source of the picture, or failing trying to figure out what event the picture captures. I think the men behind the truck are US soldiers in WW2. Note: the head of the woman is superimposed and is not part of the original.
The text in the image is Dutch, although I could not find a match on the Dutch newspaper archive website Delpher.
A reverse Google image search brought up several websites linked to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. It seems the original photograph was taken during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. Where did you find your image?
