Was there ever vegans in history? Was there ever people in history who wrote in their diary or whatever six hundred years ago or something and said 'I think it's cruel to eat meat'. If not, what changed in modern times? Not sure if this is better to ask a sociologist/anthropologist or something. Basically what I am asking is, is there a 'history of veganism'.
