Resources about Post-Classical Maya, circa ~1500AD?

by MufnMaestro

Specifically about what the Maya peoples were doing and any info about their practices/habits and their interactions with others like the Mexica, etc.

I searched through the booklist, but it seems to solely focus on classical Maya. Thanks!

If you're looking for a book recommendation, you may want to check out The Conquest of the Last Maya Kingdom, which focuses on the events leading up to and the immediate aftermath of the fall of Nojpeten in 1697, beginning with initial Spanish contact in the 1520s.

While I have not yet read it, Mathew Restall’s The Maya World: Yucatec Culture and Society, 1550-1850 was recommended to me before by /u/Cozigo, who put together a great answer to one of my questions a while back.

It's post-colonial, but from what I can tell goes into a great amount of detail relating to the culture of the late Postclassic.
