Spain was a dictatorship until 1978, whilst all the other counties in Western Europe were democracies. How did the West treat Spain in the period 1945-78? Was there constant pressure on Spain to democratise?

Just a small note: Spain wasn't the only non-democracy in Western Europe during the postwar Franco era.

Spain's neighbor Portugal was ruled by the authoritarian "Estado Novo" government under Antonio de Oliveira Salazar from 1932 until his death until 1968, and under his successors until 1974, when the regime was overthrown in the Carnation Revolution.

Depending on one's definition of "Western Europe", Greece also had a military junta ruling it from 1967 to 1974.
