I am curious about what ideology would fit the Roman Empire.
If our idea of politics were around the time of the Roman Empire. How would we view the Roman Empire as what?
You can't anachronistically apply late nineteenth and twentieth century political and economic labels to the Roman Empire. It was an autocratic and agrarian state that was neither capitalist in the industrial sense nor fascist in the totalitarian sense. I suppose you could argue that it had capitalist features, and the empire was certainly an inspiration for Mussolini's new Rome, but the short answer to your question is neither.
