Similar to burning couches and rioting after a sports team wins a championship, is there any record of ancient civilizations destroying their own city while celebrating a victory in battle?

Not the city that was just captured or defeated, specifically their own countrymen getting a little out of hand celebrating once word got back to them about the victory.

As kind of an add on question, were post-sports celebrations themselves as violent as they can be today? How rowdy and violent would I be after drinking a bunch of wine and watching my favorite charioteer win in Rome? I'm picturing burning clay hydras full of empty wine jugs or something.
