Given the high cost of supplying military arms to high-ranking soldiers such as the Knights Templars and Knights Hospitallers, how much would an average sword and suit of armour from the best metalworkers cost in todays society -- adjusting for inflation of course is possible -- in todays terms?

I know the high ranking knights had the finest weapons and armour they could afford -- what would a fine set of armour and very high quality sword like a bastard sword for Guy de Lusignan in the battle of Hattin, etc..? In todays terms? Back then what would this be equivalent to in our society today? Thousands? Several hundred thousand?

I actually meant how much would a fine metal sword for nobility such as a knight or baron cost from a reputable blacksmith versus a lower grade metal Smith? Who paid for these items.
