Where can I find a good account of Fransico Pizzaro's conquest of the Inca Empire?

by cm499821

I'm writing a paper comparing Hernan Cortes' and Pizzaro's leadership tactics. I have a few sources but I need to find more of them based on Pizzaro. Feel free to tell the narrative as well. I love this topic. Thanks.

Hello there. Your question seems to be related to school work, so we just want to remind you, and any potential respondents, that our rules DO permit people to ask for help with their homework, so long as they are seeking clarification or resources, rather than the answer itself. This policy is further explained in this META Thread.

Additionally, while our users may be able to help you out here, we hope that you also will take the time to check out our six-part series, "Finding and Understanding Sources", which should hopefully prove to be helpful for you as you continue in your research.

You may be interested in Hemming's Conquest of the Incas, or MacQuarrie's Last Days of the Incas. Both are treatments of the historical and archaeological sources in such a way that discusses Pizarro's contributions and where he lost control. In short, he wasn't exactly silver-tongued like Cortes was.

There are a few chroniclers who discuss elements of Pizarro's conquest and the early years; specifically he had a cousin, Pedro Pizarro, who fought and aided in the conquest. However, that's in Spanish, so Hemming and MacQuarrie may be better bets for a school paper, especially as they incorporate these sources into their narratives (which are very interesting).
