Basically I am looking for how he was perceived at the time, as opposed to looking at him through a historical lens
Additionally, if anyone can recommend books (or other such material) that would be a good starting point to read into Bismarck and the politics of that era, that would be great.
I am currently looking for starting point books, which will allow me to understand the general idea without having prior background knowledge about the events of that era
