Did the Russians use Dinitrophenol as a supplement during WW2?

by Hamsterged

I was wondering whether there is any truth to the russians using 2,4-dinitrophenol as a supplement during ww2, with the purpose of staying warm. I can't seem to find any sources on it, but my teacher seemed like he thought it was the case, and I have to decide between writing a large assignment on this or something else, so beforehand I'd like to be sure.

Any help's appreciated, thanks :)
