Would anyone want to help me with a Documentary on John C. Calhoun and his monument, as a "expert" on the topic who I would interview?

My AP Language class is having a year case study on the theme of power, and we are making a documentary to showcase it. The Documentary is basically covering the John C. Calhoun monument in Marion Square and is disusing the theme of power. I would like to ask question to you, about controversies surrounding the statue, that could be present, and your opinions on them.

A over text interview is okay, but a video call one would be great.

Examples of questions being asked:

  • What makes John C. Calhoun important enough to have a statue dedicated to him?
  • In what ways has his views benefited society.
  • What groups does the statue affect, and why?
