How did the idea of slavery come to be? Slavery can be traced back to the very first civilization, Mesopotamia. However before that everyone was hunter-gatherers and they did not have slaves. So how/why did changing life styles from hunter-gatherers to civilizations bring slavery to be?

Your premise that hunter-gatherer societies had no slavery is incorrect. There are many fine examples of hunter-gatherer groups that had slavery. Take a look at the ethnographic literature from the Pacific Northwest of North America, for example. Here's a start.
