I'm writing a paper on Ukrainian perception of Nazi occupation during WWII. I was wondering how to classify Raphael Lemkin's "Axis Rule in Occupied Europe: Laws of Occupation, Analysis of Government, Proposals for Redress" (1944) - would it be considered a primary source or a secondary source? Thanks in advance.
Could you explain how you are utilizing it? That would be important, since if you are simply drawing on it for the analysis and information of the work, as you would any random academic text, then it is a secondary source in this situation. If you are using it to provide an example of how people understood things in that period then it is being used as a primary source here. In short it is context dependent.
