Was there a version of "shell shock" for people before the rise of gunpowder?

I know shell shock was the term used to describe what we now know as PTSD. But was there a name for people who had PTSD during times when people used swords and bows? How was it treated by society?

/u/sapere_avde , /u/Caherdaniel , /u/skimitar , and /u/Iphikrates each gave examples of ancient cases of PTSD here, here, here, and here.

In sort, we do have various records from throughout the pregunpowder world that does suggest that soldiers did suffer from PTSD due to their experiences in battle. It may or may not have been as common as post-gunpowder warfare (particularly post-WW1 long campaign warfare), but it certainly existed and there was some awareness that it existed.
