Ancient sources describing Caesar's declaration of candidacy?

by Reveal_Your_Meat

I wanted to see if any of you knew of ancient source material describing the (supposed) masses of people amazed as Caesar walked into Rome after relieving himself of his Triumph in order to run for Consul. I'm writing a paper and I think describing that moment would be really cool to include in my paper.

I've heard history youtubers and read articles that describe this moment but they do not cite anything to prove it. Thanks!

Look here: Suetonius, Caesar; Plutarch, Cato (starting about chapter 31) and Caesar; Dio 37.54 and following; Appian BC 2.8.
