One Ayn Rand book is probably more than enough, and two seems totally unnecessary.
I'd add Walter Scott's Ivanhoe, Emile Zola's Germinal, Sam Selvon's The Lonely Londoners, Rachel Carson's Silent Spring, Frederick Douglass's Narrative of the Life..., Olaudah Equiano's Interesting Narrative, and E. P. Thompson's The Making of the English Working Class.
