My mother was told me that in the 1940s and 1950s people used to use capping foil, from milk bottles as Christmas tree decorations. She said people across the United States would stink them o together to simulate ice sickles. Does anyone have any more info on this practice? Any pictures of capping foil being reused for decorating? I couldn't really find any examples but it seems interesting to me.
I was born in 1980, in the UK but I remember making decorations with milk bottle tops. Glueing two together and then putting a piece of thread through the middle.
