I'm reading Young Stalin by Simon Sebag Montefiore. I'm it he mentions that the Okhrana prevented a 9/11 style attack on the Winter Palace. The plan was to ply a no plane loaded with exolovises into it. My question is how realistic is this for 1905 in Russia?
Does Sebag Montefiore provide any sort of source for this? I’m assuming the event would have been correlated to Bloody Sunday (and maybe I’m overreaching with that) if it were planned, but given that the flight at kitty hawk was at most just two years prior, it seems very unlikely (even just adding the weight of explosives to a 1905 plane and successfully directing it)
