Over the past few months, for whatever reason, my interest in the Spanish Empire in the Americas (in particular in the Caribbean and Florida) has grown a lot, and I think I'm at the point where I'd like to invest in a good book, as opposed to just reading things online. Thinking that there would probably be very good books about the subject written in Spanish, I have been looking for Spanish-language books, but I haven't found any (or maybe I'm missing them or don't know where to look). So, my question: can anyone recommend any good Spanish-language books about the Spanish Empire in the Americas? How about recommendations for any English ones?
Thanks very much!

Great that you want to learn more! Would you like to know some titles about the Caribbean or about Spanish America during the colonial period in general? Any particular time period (e.g. sixteenth century or eighteenth century) or more of a general survey of the history?
