How did trade between the US and Russia change as the cold war deescalated (and the Soviet Union eventually collapsed), and what effect did it have?

I'm curious about the history of trade between these two countries - obviously during the Cold War it was very limited, but I'm curious how the warming of relations helped or changed things within the countries when trade grew between them.
