[META] What to do with all the unanswered questions?

by badchildhoodpresents

While I enjoy reading all the well researched and thoughtful responses and the strict (yet unpaid) moderation that ensures the quality of those responses, there are always questions (with a decent amount of upvotes indicating that there is a high demand for an answer) that are left unanswered without a quality response.

I understand that people actually have jobs (we all can't be on Reddit forever), and as a result, some questions are overlooked by individuals who have the knowledge and sources on the subject, but lack the time to type up an answer.

Is there a system that can be implemented to fix this?

Perhaps, there could be a system where the mods collect all popular and unanswered questions in a single post on an "Unanswered Questions Day" every month for everyone to see? ^^My ^^idea ^^is ^^bad.

Edit: Spelling errors

Edit 2: More grammar issues

Edit 3: Also, what to do with the old answers that do not meet the new standards?

perhaps where the mods collect all popular but unanswered questions in a single post

Hi, just breezing through right now, but thought I'd promote the weekly stickied post Sunday Digest, which is a thread where anyone (not just mods or flairs) can highlight posts from the last week that either (a) had great answers, or (b) were overlooked. The thread will appear tomorrow morning, but meanwhile, here are [past examples] (http://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/search?q=title%3A%22Sunday+Digest%22&restrict_sr=on&sort=new&t=all)
